Queen is going to be a great-grandmother for the fourth time. This is followed by the news that Zara Tindall is pregnant with her second child. It is thought to be due this summer. A Buckingham Palace spokesperson said that the Queen and royal family were ‘very pleased’ by the news.
The 16th in line to the throne and her ex-rugby playing husband Mike Tindall already have a daughter called Mia, aged four. The Queen’s other great-grandchildren are Prince George and Princess Charlotte. The news comes after the Tindalls very sadly suffered a miscarriage in December 2016.
Zara Tindall is the daughter of Princess Anne, the Queen’s only daughter. When Anne married Captain Mark Phillips he declined a peerage from the Queen, which is why his children are not HRH and do not have courtesy royal titles. The Duchess of Cambridge, who is married to Zara’s cousin Prince William, is also expecting a baby in the spring, her third.
Congratulations to the happy couple!
