Gopal Khemka Murder: Who killed His son?

In 2018, Gopal Khemka’s son, Gunjan Khemka, was murdered in the Hajipur Industrial Area.

Gunjan was shot by a bike-borne assailant. Reports stated that he had driven from Patna to his factory in Hajipur Industrial Area when the attackers opened fire.

During the attack, one bullet hit Gunjan’s driver, while two bullets struck Gunjan himself.

Gunjan died on the spot inside his car. Following the murder, a criminal named Mastu Singh was arrested and sent to jail.

However, after Mastu was released from jail, he was also killed. This has led to speculation about a deeper conspiracy behind the murders of two members of the same family. The family is reportedly in deep shock and anger.

The recent murder of Gopal Khemka took place near Ramgulam Chowk in the Gandhi Maidan police station area. He was returning home from the Bankipore Club when he was shot.

He was taken to Mediversal Hospital, where doctors declared him dead. Senior police officials arrived at the scene soon after.

However, the family alleged that despite the crime scene being only 300 meters away from the police station, it took the police a long time to respond.

The fact that such a serious crime happened so close to a police station has raised many questions.

According to reports, Gopal Khemka was shot at close range as he got out of his car near his residence at Ramgulam Chowk.

He lived on the fourth floor of the Katarka Niwas apartment complex. He owned multiple businesses, including petrol pumps, factories, and a hospital.

Gopal Khemka was considered a prominent industrialist in the state. He also held an MBBS degree and was a former secretary of the Bankipore Club.

According to Ram Paras, the guard at Khemka’s apartment, “I saw his car approaching and got up from my chair. He honked, and as I walked towards the gate, I heard gunshots. It was around 11:30 p.m. When I reached the gate, I saw him lying in a pool of blood, but he was still breathing. The police arrived only after 2:30 a.m.”

Some media reports have suggested a possible land dispute. However, both murders followed a similar pattern — both victims were shot by bike-borne attackers.

This has intensified speculation and public debate. Is there a political angle to this in Bihar? That remains a matter of discussion.
