Anupamaa Set: A massive fire broke out at the set of the popular television serial Anupamaa in Mumbai’s Film City at around 5:00 a.m.
Completely destroying the set just hours before the day’s shoot was scheduled to begin.
Fortunately, no casualties have been reported, but serious questions are being raised about the negligence of safety protocols.
The blaze erupted around 5:00 a.m. on Friday, engulfing the entire set nearly two hours before shooting was to commence.
Crew members and staff were already present, preparing for the day’s filming.
Luckily, there were no injuries or loss of life, but had the shoot started on time, the situation could have been far worse, potentially resulting in serious injuries or fatalities.

Anupamaa Set Turns to Ashes—AICWA Cries Negligence, Demands FIR!
This incident adds to the growing concern over frequent fires in Mumbai’s film studios and highlights the negligence of production teams and authorities regarding basic safety measures.
Industry insiders claim that many studios often skip fire audits, putting hundreds of workers and artists at risk daily.
In the case of Anupamaa, nearby sets narrowly escaped being affected by the flames. Had the fire spread further, it could have escalated into a major tragedy.
In response to the incident, the All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) has taken a firm stance.
The association has appealed to Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to order a high-level judicial inquiry into the fire.
AICWA is also demanding the immediate suspension of the Managing Director of Film City and Mumbai’s Labour Commissioner, holding them responsible for failing to enforce fire safety protocols.
AICWA has not only demanded criminal FIRs against the production house and the television channel behind Anupamaa.
But also against Film City management and the Labour Department. The association has expressed concern that the fire may have been intentionally set in order to make fraudulent insurance claims.
There are also concerns that if there were any actual casualties, they may be hidden to avoid public scrutiny and legal consequences.
AICWA has urged authorities to conduct a thorough investigation to confirm whether there were any fatalities in the incident.
