AUS vs WI Test Injury and Squad Updates
Australia will miss Steve Smith in the first Test due to a finger injury. He sustained while fielding in the WTC final.
Marnus Labuschagne, who has been struggling for runs in Tests for over a year. He has also been dropped for the opening match.
Sam Konstas is set to open alongside Usman Khawaja. And Josh Inglis will replace Smith in the middle order.
West Indies will play their first Test under new captain Roston Chase. Chase who has taken over after Kraigg Brathwaite stepped down earlier this year.
Interestingly, Chase hasn’t played a Test since March 2023. Veteran pacer Kemar Roach has been left out of the squad. which could prove costly given his experience.
