Her (Sonam’s) mother had once said that Sonam’s father absolutely disliked her going out.

Sonam used to cling to me, calling me ‘Mummy, Mummy.’ If she has done this, then she deserves the harshest punishment… and society will punish her too.”

She further added, “Those three boys who have been caught—there should be strict interrogation with them first… then Sonam should be questioned.

My son used to go toward Uttarakhand, but I don’t know why he went there (Meghalaya). And when he left wearing the chain, I even asked him why.

He told me, ‘Sonam told me to wear it.’ It was Sonam who told him to wear the gold chain. I had a bad feeling. Something must have been planned.”
